Spent a good 3 hours in Daorae last night.

Totally broke Lois' record.

She said even buffet doesn't take that long.

Oh well, consequence of over-ordering.

We left without finishing anyway.

Was way too stuffed.

Good dinner though.

I haven't laughed so hard and so real in a long time.

It was as if I was high on alcohol.

Bro's friend (Pablo) from Spain/US, came over to visit.

He's so funny sometimes I wished he never stopped talking.

CNY holiday was so much of catching up with old friends.

Good times.

I guess the fact that it only happens once a year makes me appreciate it even more.

Once upon a time..

GONG XI FA CAI!

I never realized that today is CNY eve.

It has been 4 years since I celebrated CNY,

5 years since I celebrated with my immediate family.

The funny thing is,

I don't quite feel excited about it,

not like I always did.

maybe I've lost touch with it.

I don't quite have new clothes to wear.

And that doesn't really bother me.

This scares me a little.

We're checking out of hotel tmr.

Will get to spend more time with Amos then=)

I don't know if it's a good idea to bring Amos along when I go "Pai Lin".

Hopefully he'll be obedient if I do bring him along.

Hopefully it'll be a good CNY.

Amos is still asleep.
I bought him a new toy, a running wheel.
Excited to see him play.
But no, he's such a sleepy head.
If only he'd wake up now.

I've been waiting for tmr for ages.

Dr. Ajay asked me today, if I could read mandarin.
No, i said.
Why, he asked.
I didn't go to chinese school, I replied. Anyway, those are lines, can't be read.
WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY? Sing Ying overheard.
Mandarin shall never be made an international language. It's such an ineffective language. I said aloud.
Dr.Ajay laughed to agreement.

I've been trying so hard to learn mandarin.
Many said I've improved.
I'm glad.
But still, it doesn't change how I feel abt this language.
Too complicated.


Going home this weekend for CNY break/study break/assignment break.
Whatever it is, a holiday's a holiday. =)

Going out for a drink.
Will TRY to wake Amos up before I go out. =)

A Bundle of Joy

I've been wanting to blog for such a long time, but never gotten the chance to do so due to super busy schedule.

This morning the first thing I could think of when I opened my eyes was BLOGGING.

So here are the updates:

 

1) New Year's Eve

As usual, I celebrated it with the Jing bangs.

It has been 8 years since we did this together.

I don't thk any of us realized how quickly time passed.

There were times where some of us couldn't make it, but whenever we could, we would.

It is a really rare opportunity when all of us get to be together, so I always try to make it to this annual celebration.

If i'm not mistaken, I actually missed it in 2008, 2007 and 2006 when i was in Argentina and India.

These pictures remind me of the happy times we had.

2) Dinner making

We all put a night at Jill's place.

I dozed off at 4 or 5am, some stayed up till 6am, I don't know what they were doing.

We all woke up ard noon the following day.

After gobbling up ytd's left over, we headed to bangsar village for grocery shopping.

We had a plan of making ourselves dinner, to celebrate our belated 21st bdays together (except for Val).

To think abt it, it's pretty ironic to celebrate our 21st bday on the 1st of jan 2011, when we already turn 22.

We had a REALLY hard time thinking of what to cook.

Finally, we all agreed to this:

Menu: Wantan mee and soup

I forgot the name of the dessert but it's made of gula malacca and sago

Val offered a helping hand, though at home she hardly enters the kitchen.

Fern was observing. She's got some new interest in cooking I thk? =)

Melting the gula malacca in a non stick pot.

Minced pork for the wantan filling.

I marinated it with oyster sauce, soy sauce, salt, pepper, sesame oil.

Mixing them well.

Everybody's effort in wrapping wantans.

First time for many of us, that explains the funny shapes. =)

The extra minced pork was rolled into balls.

I then cooked the wantans in boiling water.

I used chicken as the wantan soup base.

My first time making wantan soup actually.

I boiled the vege in the soup for a couple of mins and lifted them before they become too soft.

Yummy.

This is what my friends were doing while I was busy in the kitchen.

Now comes the wantan noodle.

Basically, I added some sauces in the bowl before boiling the noodles.

Dinner was ready. ;)

So that was it.

We had lots of fun together.

I'm missing you guys already.

The next time we're meeting is probably end of this year. =S

3) Family reunion

My parents finally came back to Malaysia for good after the 5 year stay in Argentina.

Joanne and I went down to KL to stay with them in Grand Millenium hotel for the weekend.

Yvonne was there too, so the 5 of us spent our weekend together.

Though short, we had a great time; chit chatting, opening gifts and laughing away.

Daphne and Swan Boon came up to penang on Tues.

We were hanging out together for a couple of days and then they flew off to China on Thurs.

I'm missing them already.

I actually sacrificed my studying time for them, but it was worth it.=)

Thank god I still managed to do okay despite reading only on the morning of the exam day.

We did camwhore a lot but the pics are all with Daph.

Will upload them once she posts them on FB. =)

I do not know if I have a habit of snapping at innocent ppl when i'm moody, but I personally thk it's pretty rude and unfair to do so.

I guess i'm heading to bed already.

Just came back from a failed attempt to get movie tickets.

Really exhausted.

Eyelids are involuntarily closing.
